HAGG LAKE LOOP
This is a fun day!
You can expect to be out for about 5-6 hrs.
Henry Hagg Lake is a man-made lake about 5 miles SW of Forest Grove. Offering a beautiful 10.7 mile, two lane loop full of straights, sweepers and hills it is perfect for working on; looking through corners, maintenance throttle, braking, relaxing, breathing... It is also a good place to hone S.I.P.D.E. as there can be a lot going on, it is a very active site; bicyclist, joggers, boats, cars and the occasional wildlife. We do try to be out there before dusk to limit possible Deer encounters.
This route starts in Wilsonville, traveling on Wilsonville with the beautiful Willamette River to our left into Newberg , up to Bald Peak State Park for our first stop/group check in and bathroom break. Don't forget to relax and take in some vistas along the way...We'll point them out!

From there, we head down through Laurel to Gaston where we take our next stop/group check in and bathroom break at the Lake Stop Grocery.

After a lap or two around Hagg Lake, we head back to Wilsonville on hwy 47 to Yamhill, where we stop for a gas up, then we head east on the beautiful Hwy 240 to Newberg and then back to Wilsonville along Wilsonville Rd.

SAUVIE ISLAND
You can expect to be out for about 4-5 hrs.
The Sauvie Island Route has a lot of cornering for the 1st and last half of the ride. Have no fear though! It is mostly through residential roads that "feel" rural. Speed limits are respected (as always), no passing (as always).
This route is really, really good for honing; looking through those turns, throttle/brake management, S.I.P.D.E., relaxing, breathing and keeping those eyes up.
The route starts with a met up on SW Terwilliger Blvd with a great view of Mt. Hood. From there we head up into the West Hills to Counsel Crest for a quick loop around the park, then we take a slow, windy road down to SW Humphrey's Rd, then onto Skyline Blvd, and down NW Newberry to Hwy 30.
A short ride on Hwy 30 (not long, enough to give those that haven't been on the Hwy a little confidence to do so!) we cross the Sauvie Island bridge and head to the Island Cove Cafe for a rest/group chat/bathroom break.
Back out Sauvie and onto Hwy 30 for a few mins to NW Cornelius Pass Rd, then a Left turn onto SW Skyline Blvd for a repeat of our route back to the meeting spot.
